: Any of you folks have info on whether I need a baitcasting
: rod or not? I have a light-action spinning rod, and maybe I
: should just get a heavier spinnning? I've seen in the photo album
: that most of you guys use spinning. Please reply. Thanks and good

AL hit it right on. I own both and from experience bait casters take ALOT of
practice. I wasted a full spool of string just learning to use it(baitcaster)
If you want to get into larger species and don't feel the need for 2 poles, set
up a medium action combo with fireline. It can handle the big boys and don't foul
like spiderwire. This way your rig is ready for almost any type of bait and
it is stronger than most baitcasters(10 - 16 lb test.). Baitcasters are great,
but I think a spincast is more versitile.
