Fished my favorite bass pond last night, but there was a blizzard of cottonwood in the air and all over the water and weeds. Learn from my mistakes -- don't bother. You'll f-up your line and just end up getting P.O.'d
If you own a bait caster, definitely don't bother. I clogged up my line guide, the eyes of my rod, and got a few nasty birds nests. I have to completely disassemble the reel, clean it, oil it, and reline. I tried my spinning gear too, that was a little better, but still damn frustrating.
If you encounter the swarm of cottonwood, fish close in for bluegills or something, but don't cast out into/over it!!!
