Fished at Busse for a few hours this afternoon until 4:45. Cloudy, on and off drizzle and hardly anyone else out fishing. Water levels around the lake are down, clarity is pretty good. Not much wind but there's current on some mainlake areas.

No takers on a shallow sand shoreline flat with dead weeds and baitfish adjacent to deep water, so moved down about 50 yards and fished a submerged rocky/gravel bar that extends out toward the dropoff with deep water on both sides. 2 walleyes caught casting and slowly floating/retrieving a chrome paint-stripped baby thundersick over the edges of the rocks. Both bites came as the lure was paused and floating toward the surface. It's nice to see that you don't even need paint on these lures, the shiny chrome finish is enough to get them to bite. Smaller fish was 13 inches, with the larger being 16 inches and pretty thick.

For anyone planning on going out this weekend; the dollar store in the mall complex by the bowling alley is fresh out of minnows. No shipment came in this week due to the holiday. None coming in until Monday at the earliest but they still have a few nightcrawlers.
