Looking at the DEsPlaines fishing eating advisory, i saw that the DesPlaines River is pretty polluted and we should rarely be eating fish from there. I suppose this goes for Salt Creek as well, right? Salt Creek actually is a tributary of the DesPlaines River, is that right?
: : I believe the bottom of the dam where Busse Lake empties into is where Salt Creek starts, right? There's a lot of people there catching small small small crappie and carp. Its not worth it anymore.
: : : YES, IF ANYBODY HAS COMMENTS ON THAT SAME QUESTION PLEASE REPLY.

: You're correct, Salt Creek begins where the dam at Busse empties. Except the fishing there isn't as bad as you think. In late winter and early spring the walleye fishing is pretty good. I caught several around and over 18 inches and saw one caught at 20 inches. I stopped in at a nearby bait store yesterday(Fish On), and the proprieter showed me a picture of a 6 lb 7oz walleye someone caught just last Sunday evening when the weather was crummy and overcast. He also had a picture of a 6 lb Lmouth caught there 2 weeks ago.
: Often when casting this area with 2 inch twisters I'll catch a larger size crappie or even a big bluegill. Lots of nice fish in the area, give it a try sometime.
