Got out in my canoe from 1 til 5. Water seems high. There is a big beaver damn blocking the cannal that drains a small pond into Busse South. The damn has caused the pond to rise about 8 feet. The small pond is now spilling over into Busse from other places along that shore line.

The day was overcast, windy and temp close to 60. Caught 3 walleye, 13", 14", and 18", along with one bass. Missed several others. I drifted a 1/16 jig with flatheads. Fish were suspended in 20' deep water. Marked several schools on my depth finder.

I would have preferred anchoring for better feel and control of the jig but my anchor rope wasn't long enough. Drifting over the fish worked but the fish seemed to spook after a few drifts.

I moved to a shallow point when the sun went down but didn't get any takers.
