To me the buzzbait is the only topwater bait. If you lose a fish on a buzzbait with a trailer hook, you should give up fishing immediatly. On hot summer days from sunrise till about 7:00(depending on the actual date) you will kill the bass on a buzzbait through openings in the weeds. Cast past the weed bed and reel fast over the weeds, and once you hit an opening(or pocket)in the weeds slow the lure down, just a little. On a quality lake you WILL have hits! Once the bite slows down(usaully because the sun gets too high) switch to spinnerbaits run just under the surface. Change retrieves to find the best method, and you will catch the big ones before they retreat to the deeper water. Later on in the day, try crankbaits or live bait for more bass! Good luck everyone. And(if you are smart) don't give away your top spots!!!!!!!!! Let everyone find them on their own like you did!!!!!
