The lake still has ice over it, but some shorelines on the northern part of the main pool were open. The dam areas have open water, thought the levels are way down and the water is extremely clear. Lots of wind and there plenty of current and swirling water. Didn't expect much with the bright sun and clear water, and didn't get much.
Spent the afternoon at the middle and main dams using jigs and fatheads, jigs and fatheads under a float, on a lindy rig,twistertails,etc.... and also tried slowly twitching crankbaits but hardly a fish to be had all day. Finally lucked into a small crappie late in the afternoon on a minnow/hook combo with a splitshot around 4:30. Saw a beaver swimming around and diving in the tailwaters below the main dam. After a while he got a hold of a big branch and managed to drag it through the current and on to the shoreline. That was about the highlight of the afternoon.
