When you get to the entrance to Mazonia just take the gravel road all the way back to the end and park. You will see a car path heading south. Take this back to Clear (Shangri La) lake. This is a big lake but there are smaller pits to the south and east of this lake. The way to find them is walk to the top of a hill and you see them. I would advise you to call ahead of time (815) 237-0063 to make sure they are open given the thaw and rain we are and will receive over the weekend. Good luck!!
: I was thinking of heading to Mazonia this weekend. I am not at all familiar with this lake, but have heard about smaller pits farther from the main lake. Where are these pits? Any info would be appreciated.
