: Ed and I spent the day on Pistakee. Between the 2 of us we caught & released just short of 60 crappies between 10-14", 25 channel cats averaging about 1.5-2pds, 9 drum, a half dozen big white bass(12"+) and between 70-90 small white bass along with a few small yellow bass. My homemade teardrops in colors glow, charteuse, and blue tipped with 2-3 spikes is what produced all our fish. Once again the majority of everything but the stripers were suspended. Marking crappies at 10-12 feet down over 23-24 feet of water was almost a guarantee of a fish. The marks from crappies & catfish deeper than that took some finesse jigging to trigger. My guess is the more aggressive fish were up higher in the water column. We would still mark lots of fish in certain holes yet after taking 1 or 2 off the top, the school would move on....and off we go again. Our productive holes from the a.m. went dead again around noon and we moved close to 150-200 yards before locating more active fish around 2pm. The white bass in one area were hitting all day with the occasional rogue suspended crappie school moving through. Catfish and drum were spread out all over the bay. Still good ice conditions with at least a foot in most places...the shorelines were a bit slushy and watery from all the rain and runoff though. Water clarity good...I was expecting to see some cloudy water after this past weekend but the clairty held up very well. Only about a dozen other anglers scattered throughout the day...unfortunately I discovered a pair of them decided to leave a few big white bass on the ice...I'm assuming they thought they didn't have enough for a meal so they just dumped them for the birds:-(

If you want to adopt anyone....let me know!
