Did I miss something? When did the chain not have a fine panfish population?
Are you referring to the years that the yellow bass dominated the fishery? Although alot of chain anglers considered them pests IMHO that was a fine population also of good eating fish...I think alot of people will agree maybe the best eating panfish. However, the fishery was out of whack and lopsided with yellow bass for a number of years which contributed to their ulitmate decline with periodic die offs. The last few years it's finally balanced out with good populations of bluegill, crappie, white & yellow bass and perch. I think it's safe to say not only is it a fine population but also a healthy balanced fishery right now.
