It sure is nice to be able to get nice sized crappies, white bass etc at this time. But really this year is no different than the past 15 that I have seen. Just a more variety. However if ALL we fishermen, catching ALL these fish, continue to keep ALL we are catching , then it won't last very long. We could end up with large schools of drum instead of "stripers". Like we have with the carp vs. gamefish on a larger scale. I've seen what a lot of the guys keep(everything that they catch). Wintertime is just more proof that the deep water is the "home" of the fish. Right now MOST of the fish are in one small area. These lakes are really quite small, and an even smaller "home", and it won't take much to "put a hurt on 'em ". I don't think the schools are all that large, either. I hope more of us will practice a little restraint, and just keep a percentage of our catch for the pan, not all of 'em. Then maybe we can do it again next year, and so on. Thanks for listening, Chris
