Believe it or not there was about 10 guys on the ice Tuesday afternoon.
The conditions to get on at Pinky's was just fine. The ice in most spots was 6-8 inches, however there were several areas of 3 inches. I was surprised on the number of other fisherman walking across the black ice areas. I personally do not like those spots.
I made it out on the ice about 400 PM with a good bite until about a hour after dark. I had much better luck on a charteuse ice jig with spikes than the plastics. The constant jigging presentation that Dave K. described on our recent meeting on the ice was essential to my success. Thanks Dave :-)
I ended up with several nice crappies, one nice white and yellow bass and only one drum - yeppee.
I did speak to a couple of guys that did catch two nice walleyes that were in slot on tip-ups.
