I got on Channel Lake at Wasz's/McDermots. The ice was fine, but there was open water 1/2 way out on the pier. I usually fish on the north end, but I stayed on the south end. The fishing was OK. I got about 20 bluegills. The Chain ice fishing derby was going on. There was a large group of guys with their families fishing near me. They had a large number of tip ups set out. I saw them get a 17 inch Walleye and a big Catfish. I am going out today and I am going to try to get up to the North end. The ice was OK, about 7 inches.
