Fished Pickeral Lake(Pratt Wayne Woods) from 12:00 - 15:00. Did fair on the gills using jig/spikes fished on the bottom, or just off the bottom in 15' of water. Three NWMA members were there already(practicing for next week) and were doing better than I was. Early on you could entice some fish to move off the bottom slightly to take your bait, but around 13:00 or so, they just sat on the bottom. Vex was no good as the fish were so tight, you couldn't "pick" them out from the bottom. Some gills were decent, around 7'', but most ran about 4'', and a few real dinks were caught(but mostly stole your bait) Saw one Crappie(under the 9'' min size) caught, and someone else caught a 5 - 6'' Largemouth. Someone else came by and said they were marking fish, but most were "sniffers". They were using waxies though. Most of the ice was 12''...3'' of white ice and 9'' of clear ice. Of course, thinner near the creek inlet(which was flowing pretty good). Tried fishing safe ice by the current area, but never caught a fish.
