Fished Irving Park? harbor & the perch were biting steadily. They were right on the bottom. I used fat heads with a small split shot & a # 8 gold hook. They were all around 8 inches. I went to Montrose, but there was nobody on the ice and it doesn't pay to be a pioneer. I bought bait at Henry's & the guy from the shop that had just returned from burnam said there were only 30 fish caught total & the water was so murky that the guys with the accue-vues couldn't even see anything. The ice was solid at Irving park. I only fished from 1:30 - 3:00, but the fish were still biting when I left.
