Fished Zurich During the day and Bangs after dark yesterday with Mr. Walleye and Dave Newman......
Lake Zurich:
We fished from approximately 1:30 until 4:30 using only tip-ups and medium roaches. We got 10 flags, but only landed 3 fish all bass smallest 11" largest 14". 6 of the flags came from the same hole. The fish were hitting , running with the bait like crazy then dropping or stealing it before we ould get to the hole. Roaches were hooked just below the dorsal fin, maybe need stinger hooks next time. On all flags we noticed the fish on the line running with the bait, but seemed like we couldnt get to the tip-up quick enough to hook the fish before dropping it. 3 bass and a lot of action made for a good afternoon.
Bangs Lake:
Got set up around 6:30 and fished til about 8:30 using crappie minnows in 15 feet of water. Caught 2 crappie 11 1/4" and 9" and 1 warmouth about 8". Action was slow, but I think we just missed the early evening bite.
