I went out to the both Montrose and Belmont Harbors yesterday. The fishing was a little slow but the perch were running bigger and most were greater than 8-inches. I think that I ended up with a dozen perch.
I was using a 1/2 oz sinker on the bottom of my line, a ice fishing dot with a maggot on the middle of my line (about 1 foot up from sinker), and a minnow on top (another foot up). It seem that the bigger perch liked to have the minnnows. Your best bet is to cast out and reel up slowly.
