Launched just before daybreak at the portage marina and went to the mouth and anchored along the rocks on the inside and fished with squid and casted with spinners, cranks and spoons and not a fish!!!!!!! Gave it about an hour and went on the lake side of the rocks at the mouth and tried again and got one on a Jig and twister with squid and one on a crank, both casting and then came the lightening so we got off the water for an hour or so till it blew over but the rain continued. Went back were we got the two and nada. Fought the wind and went to baileys and water dirty and found 62 degree water but no fish again. Went into the port and started trolling in the whitecaps for about an hour or so with only one fish. Two other boats in there trolling and they left before we did . Went back to the mouth of the ditch and trolled and got two more on a clown colored Shad rap # 5. Couple of boats there but didnt see anybody do anything. A few boats ran towards US Steel discharge but dont know what they did. Sure thought we would do better. Two guys anchored near the discharge in the port said they had 6 fish but only room for one boat there. Still better than working. Wont have a good report when I do my talk at the Riverside Fishing Club next week unless I get out again before then.
