My Dad & I decided to try out his powerline gear at the outside of Belmont (first time in 15 years he says). The gear all worked fine, but the fish weren't impressed. Our bell stayed silent & out of 6-8 or so powerliners I heard one guy managed a Brown. The guy next to us had a definate hit, but no fish.
Also tried casting a couple spoons without a bump.
The perch must have been biting because there were a good number of guys on one of the docks in the harbor.
