: : : : Went scouting sunday 24 Jan 99. Coho Lefty in Portage is now open to launch, But due to the heavy rain and melt off burns ditch is hign and muddy. Drove into the public fishing area in the port of indiana and no ice in there but water cloudy. Supposed to be close to 50 this week. If wind out of south will go out and try the hot water discharges in the port and the doughnut and baileys power plant. They have to be there , their there every year this time.

: : Im surprised you remembered. My last day was 15 Jan 99. If elgin wasnt such a drive after a few beers I would like to meet you guys. I will let you know about the port. f the wind is right my boat is ready and pointed in the right direction. Im also going to Lake Erie for the week of 17 to 24 April and for two weeks from the 9th to 22nd of may. e take our own boats and stay on South bass Island. When you that far out a small boat is OK as long as the lake conditions are ok but you normally can always find a place to launch or fish no matter how high the wind is blowing or out of any direction.
