I was driving on LSD today and was wondering where the best shore spots are near the loop. I drove over to Burnham Harbor but only found a boat launch with parking available to those with boats and trailers. Is there any good shore fishing near there? Is there parking nearby for the schmucks like me that want to fish? Also is there a fee to park? I could remember as a kid going to Navy Pier and park for free and fish for perch near the sub. Today I saw the ridiculous price to park at Navy Pier and don't feel like paying Richie Daly any more than a buck ot two.
I stopped at Belmont harbor and walked along the northern part of the boat docks. I saw some really good size bluegills but I know there is no fishing there. But how does the rest of the Belmont harbor area rate a a fishing spot with the rocks around the breakwall? Same question for areas around the Planetarium, Monroe Harbor, Montrose....
