New to Lake Calumet

I was wondering where I can access the river with my fishing boat? I am from Aurora ,IL. and would like directions. Also is my boat to small to put into that Lake? It is an 18ft. fiberglass fishing boat? Any help would be appreciated as always good fishing. Thanks in advance.
