: : : : JimmyN: You must be new to fishing around here. You don't see us regulars complaining about all the traffic and fishing pressure out there. We learn how to live with it. No one complained when you showed up, did they? Now you think its your water alone. If you don't like it go somewhere else. These waters are way to small to complain about who, when, and where. Post a report not a complaint. My two cents. Edward D. Bohn

: I PROMISE IF SOMONE EVER CUT IN FRONT OF ME WHILE I'M FISHIN YOUR GETTING TOSSED IN THE DRINK. UGLY

: : :
: : : :Well first of all Eddie Weddie, I'm not new to fishing around here.Second, this was the first time I've experienced this type of boldness from other fisherman on the river. No matter where you are fishing, if you're not a good enough fisherman to practice common and standard fishing ethics you earn the coveted
: : : SKIPPY title. Maybe I'm one of a few considerate and ethics observing anglers out there. But I know when I'm out there with my 6 year old trying to teach him how to catch bass or just out minding my own business I don't like being disturbed by rude people. How would you like it if someone cut right in front of you while you were plainly and obviously fishing in a particular area? come on, if you want to fish that area come in behind someone. A good angler would take this as an opportunity to find fish in another area. But I see your point to a certain degree. If someone comes in behind me, they're probably not going to catch the fish that I caught and released.
: : : I've done it mant times now. When someone was in a spot I intended to fish, I scouted elsewhere and found fish in places I've never fished before. But you've got to be good to do that, and SKIPPY'S just don't make good anglers.
: : : Now, if you find my statements about rudeness wrong and unreasonable, perhaps you need to re-evaluate your own standards and ethics.
: : : It's quite simple, I catch lots of fish and SKIPPY'S don't. That's why they cut in front of people to try to catch fish where they may have caught them in the past. Also, if YOU don't like my statements, don't respond.
: : : Oh and I am a regular. I'm just not one of those people who sit around and watch sports and then goes to the bar to discuss the game. I'm the guy you don't here from because I'm out playing the sports.
: : : You're right about one thing though. This is the big city where ignorance and rudeness usually prevails. Do you (regulars) consider yourselves to be sportsman? Or are you just people who go out there to see how many fish you can catch regardless of how it gets done? So hey all you regulars, Ed's right. If you see JimmyN out there, cut in front of him because he's gonna catch everything before you do. It's unlikely you'll catch anything by following me.
: : : Just a little arrogance I picked up from reading eddy's posts.

: : Jim: Don't get me wrong. I hear where your coming from. I get the same thing out there. Even from some of the same guys fishing the tournaments IM in with them. I fall in behind if I what to hit a bank that someone else is on or I find other water. That is why I headed out to the lake years back. Just trying to make a point.

:
: Ed, There are good ways to make points and not so good ways. I believe my concerns are valid about this. It makes for such a nicer experience when you can go out and have a nice time without dealing with SKIPPY"S acting like they own the joint.
: And no, I don't want to claim the water as my own. That's why I take special care to un-hook and release each fish I catch. That's why I take anyone out fishing with me who wants to go.
: I was out on the river yesterday afternoon and when I was coming back in to Alsip, two schmucks in a bass boat came roaring past the launch ramp without slowing down even a little.Mine and another boat was thrown all over the place.I got a brand new scratch down the side of my boat from it.What's the freakin' hurry? I'm not saying you do this kind of stuff.I was just commenting on it and you gave me the business over it.
: I'm telling ya people, if you don't do what you know is right, you'll pay for it eventually.Be courteous,be fair and considerate.Let's pretend we have a little southern friendliness and hospitality in us. Some of you give the sport a bad name, especially when you're roaring past no-wake area's and rudely cutting in front of people when there's plenty of water out there for everyone.
: yesterday I said to hell with this and went to a spot where I didn't think would hold many bass.I got the biggest one I've caught in two weeks. It just goes to show you that you don't need to fish the same area's over and over and crowd other people. There arte a lot of bass out there.you just have to go and find them.Try making that your intention next time you go out.See how good you are at finding bass in other area's.You'll be surprised.
: Alright Ed,now that that's over with I've got somewhat of a report.
: Yesterday while bass fishing I caught the biggest carp I've seen in a while. He hit a carolina rigged brush-hog.Oh, what a fight.
