: this allows mud, debri,and water to flow under the deck and keep you from slipping. If you can glue 4" foam strips under each board that will add to the flotation and compesate for the added weight.

good idea i'll give it some thought. your idea sounds more like a wood grate set up than a solid wood floor. it sounds like when the wood does get wet it is open enough to dry quicker also. great idea!
