hummingbird wide 3d verses lowerance x75

i have just bought a new boat. had a hummingbird wide 3d on the old boat. i was thinking about installing a lowerance x75 instead of the wide 3d. i wasn't really please with hummingbirds backlighting, also it was sometimes hard to read in bright sunlight. could i expect a big difference with the x75?
i was also told that if i go to the x75 to spend alittle more and get the x85. i understand more power but what would be the big advantage? wouldn't this put a bigger drain on the battery?
