Welcome to the area John. The Kish is a beautiful river to fish but the walleye populations are not very strong. I do catch walleye out of the kish every year but I catch much more out of the Rock river. If you live downstream from 251 then you are close to where the Kish flows into the Rock. You are also within a half hour drive of three major dams on the Rock (Rockton, Fortom, and Oregon). All of these dams offer quality walleye fishing if you time it right in the spring and fall. As far a techniqes, start with jigs or jig and minnow combinations. Walleyes feed just off the bottom in rivers so use a jig that has just enough weight to keep you in contact with the bottom. Good luck and let us know if they start biting. The action should start in the next few weeks if the weather breaks.
