Wisconsin's early catch and release trout season requires barbless hooks. Do you think there is any advantage to the use of barbless hooks for smallies on the kish?... I'll end up doing it anyway since I've already gone "barbless" on the rooster tails and such.
also recently heard about putting "alka seltzer" or baking soda in tubes, so you get a "snap, crackle and pop" to get the smallie's attention... has any body done this for real? wouldn't you have to reload after every cast?
