I have heard and read alot about catching early season pike on dead bait. I've had some success with spoons and live bait in early spring, but I have never tried dead bait. Most of the articles seem to refer to fishing lakes. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck on rivers in early spring using dead bait? If so should you fish it on the bottom or float it under a bobber? I practice CPR and any help is appreciated.
