Thats a good point!Anytime we use live bait we take a chance at gut hooking any fish.Does anyone know if a quick strike rig would help slim these odds.I know in the musky world they use quick strike rigs because of the gut hooking reason. I plan on going out to fish feeder creeks with Paul and no we dont want to keep them.We know that besides icefishing this is a best bet to getting out and curing Cabin fever.I wont say which feeder creek is was fishing last year in early March but i did have a real nice pike swim by my feet,so i know this a good spot to look for early season fishing. The key question is can you figure out what feeder creeks to pin point if you can get bundled up and get out there and enjoy the rest of this excellent easy winter.By the way one of the guy's at Gander Mountain did fill me in that he did catch a huge female smallie, and about a ten pound pike last weekend.Im not going to divulge his name or info but hey guy's are catching fish and thats what counts. He did release both fish.
