If you brought a petition to the next ISA meeting at Gander Mountain, I'd put my signature on it. I wonder how many it would take for the DNR to do something about it? Maybe we should check and see what it took to install the 100% catch and release zone on the Rock below the Oregon Dam. It would be great if we could get the Kish 100% catch and release for smallies. I would even settle for experimantal catch & release zones so the DNR could compare sections of the river and see which ones have better impacts on smallmouth populations. There's only one way to find out. The bucket fisherman will still have other species to fill thier buckets with. One of my favorite traits of the smallie is that it is an agressive feeding fish that will bite a wide variety of lures and baits. Unfortunately that same trait makes them more likely to end up in a bucket or on a stringer.
