Welcome to the board. I'm thinking about getting a kayak also to drift/fish from on the Kish and other local spots. You mentioned buying an inflatable kayak. Be careful with this and maybe start thinking about moving out of that inflatable as soon as possilbe. I was fishing from the bank of the Kish in Baumann Park in Cherry Valley, and had to pause while a guy, his girlfriend/wife and a small child floated by in an inflatable raft. When they got to the bend there, the raft started loosing air very fast, they must have hit a branch or something under the surface(there was a downed tree about 5 feet from where this happened). Luckily, the river was fairly low and the kid had a life preserver on, fo they just climbed out at that point. I was fishing behind a small pile of concrete that has several pieces of rebar sticking out of it and this tends to gather a lot of other stuff flowing down the river. Just be careful out there, and let us know how trip(s) go.
