The best time to fish for the white bass is when the lilac bushes start to flower , I know it sounds kinda of goofy but it seems to be the truth . I have been down there when you can catch a boat load of them . I have found that a shallow running rapala shad rap # 5 or # 7 in the silver color will just slam them when they are running . And of course the old jig and minnow cast and retrive will also work . I had a guy come up to me and my fishing partner and ask what we were using because we got about ten to his one , while he was watching. I dont think they taste very good , so I am strictly catch and release down there.
