Now that the wind died I grabbed the 5 wt and got out for a couple hours to a local Dupage pond. Had a riot, caught to many yo keep track. All of the fish were caught on spider poppers. I love that surface bite.

The smallest was just over 9.5 (top center) and the largest was just shy of 12 (top right). I held it up against the rod and reel for some perspective, and yes each of those were measured with a tape that I always keep in my car.

Nice Bull Gills. That's what we call the big gills down south.

blufloyd I know it's hard to beleive but there was no handy work. I would take you to this pond but then I would have to.... never mind.

Stop at Kolar bait in Carol Stream and talk to a guy that works there named Mike, it's always good to fish with someone that can back you up.
