Default pike hitting in gurnee

Hi guys, newbie here. Was out for a couple of hours this past Sunday in gurnee and caught 5 pike ranging from 16 to 29 inches. All were caught on silver x raps. Anyone else been having any luck up this way?

Just updating. I was out again last Sunday and caught 14 northerns ranging from 18" to 29" again all on a silver x rap. Had a few chasing my spinners and spoons but no hits. What lures are you guys having luck with?

No chance to go out lately, do have some time this weekend though. any advice for fishing high water? Never tried when the river was high and don't know what to do when faced with these Conditions. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

How were you fishing your xrap? We're you scraping bottom? Two twitch pause or steady retrieve?

Let it hit the water and immediately started reeling, 4 turns of the handle then pause for a one count 3 turns then give it a slight jet just to make a little more noise. Usually get hit when starting the next retrieve or just at the next pause.

You weren't scrapping bottom? How deep was the water?
