One, they weren't my fish. He had one on a stringer and had just caught the other. He was unaware of the C&R regulation and when I informed him he seemed genuinely glad to be made aware. He gave no arguement or excuses, he only had them on the stringer so he could take a quick picture but he realized he had left his camera in the car. When I told him A CPO might not be so understanding as the regulation calls for immediate release, he immediately released them. I offered to take a quick pick before he released them. I see it all the time. People aren't neccessarily breaking the law on purpose, they don't take the time to read the rules. Had he ignored my information and kept the fish on the stringer, I would have had no problem using the poachers hot line # which is on my cell phone. In this case, by not being an a$$ about it, I made a friend and educated a fellow angler.
Iwannastriper, after your recent post about CLF and these forums, you continue to amaze me. Again not posting any usefull fishing information, just busting someone else's balls.
Well, this is my farewell to CFL, I can't take it anymore. The longest thread this year was a ridiculous exchange about stripers. To eat or not to eat. People talking about this fact and that fact. I would suggest that half the comments were made by people with little or no knowledge of the species. Myth after myth, made up garbage. C'mon most of the fish in the picture might have been whites and not stripers.
Anywany, I am just fed up with what this place has become. So adios to CLF,
