A good day today on the K3. 5 smallies and 3 wallies. The slow moving front and dark skies must have caused the walleyes to get active. Caught all 3 waldos on a small, square bill, shallow diving (1-3'), brown and orange Bomber crankbait. All 3 eyes were caught in an area about as big as a bathtub; a tail out trough (about 3') at the end of a long narrow hole. Only 2 pics-my camera phone didn't save the biggest one; about 18"? 4 pics of smallies-one was a dink. 1st bronzeback on the same crankbait above as the smallies chased some bait up on a shoal and busted them. 3 other smallies caught on 3 consecutive casts on a 4" Flappin Shad in pearl shad. They were all caught in the exact same spot; behind a bolder boil, about 15' from the bank, in 2 fow. I was buzzing the flappin shad on top and then 'killing it' in the bolder boil. The 'foggy' smallie pics were caused by condensation. I had my camera phone in my right breast pocket in a plastic sandwich bag, but when I reached armpit deep to save my precious Bomber from a ball of cat line I got it damp.
Nice fish...i went out this morning and caught 2 walleyes also...18 and 16 inches..i was surely surprised with the warm water to catch eyes in the end of july, lol...caught 12 smallies all around 10 inches or so...caught 4 cats with one of them close to 10 pounds..she was a brute to say the least
