Got out again today with couple friends and I got my dad to wade. Fishing was not terrible but slower. Most fish were caught on Flukes with a couple on jig/minnows. Water was 48 degrees this morning but warmed up significantly by afternoon. The low clear water must absorb the sun pretty fast because the temp shift was very noticeable. On 2 separate occasions, a fish that was hooked had a school of bass chasing it in, trying to steal the lure out of its mouth. I've never seen that before. One time, I threw a fluke into the group of fish that was chasing a fish on my buddy's line and it got slammed. Got about twenty bass between us with a few decent ones in the mix.
We fished different areas in the State Park. We moved around a lot and picked up a few fish in each spot. The fish were in current near deeper water mostly but some were in the shallows. The weeds were tough for sure. I use weighted Mr Twister Keeper Hooks with twister tails/minnows when the weeds are like this. When we found fish, they were feeding aggressively but they just weren't as concentrated as they have been.
