Default rattlin rogue ?

this past year I have spent many hours using a "rattlin rogue" trying to catch walleyes on the river, with no luck !!! at the suggestion of a local baitshop, I was told that chrome w/ black back and chrome/blue back were the ones walleyes would eat. was i duped again ? are these lures worth continuing to use ? are these the right colors ? any thoughts ?

Great lure, great color.
Walleye aren't THAT easy to come by on the K3. My guess is you just haven't found where they are staging right now, or you haven't hit their active windows. Keep pluggin' away

Good lure, soild color. Keep at it, I'm sure you are varying the retireves speeds twich it, pause etc. Cast it past & through slack water/eddys... They'll strike it!

You might try a little weight, like a splitshot 12 inches in front of your lure. Remember the waters cold so slow, slow, slow on the retrieve.

I've had luck with the rattlin' rogue.. but in firetiger & only in late spring. What i've noticed, is that Pikes & smallies tend to hit it on a retrieve.. any walleye i've ever gotten on it was throwing it into current and letting it drift downstream.. Walleye came up and hit anywhere from 50-75 yards away from me.

I've had success more recently on Mepps #4 spinners in silver/white, gold/brown & firetiger on a slow retrieve that casts into the current, and brings it back at an angle, which using the force of the current helps you keep it at the surface (avoiding getting snagged on rocks) & roll it in much slower... Firetiger has been the weapon of choice lately, but considering my last 4 walleyes have come after dark, i'm guessing the color pretty much doesn't matter, & they were probably going by the noise/vibration/disruption
