Default Fantatstic Day-Lots of Smallies with Pics

What a great day. Started off with a fish on first cast and it they were biting all day. It was entirely a live bait day with minnows/jigs and minnows on a hook with a split shot drifted being the ticket. Three of us each got 40 fish or more. We moved when the bite slowed and started catching them again. Size is definitely improving but still some smaller ones mixed in. One walleye was we could manage. River is still low but is cooling down. Here are a few of the pics

Nice smallies, I've been itching to get back down there on the yak. Did you guys try any plastics? 4" dingers or light jig (1/8) and craw imitations always produce for me this time of the year.

41x9.... I did try a 4 inch finesse worm on a 1/16 oz jig head. Got a couple hits but no fish. It did work for me last week though. I didn't try any plastic craws. I have had luck on Flukes this time of year but have only got a few on them this year. I prefer to use lures if they get fish but if they want minnows or worms, that's what I will give them. I have also been throwing top waters but not a single fish yet. I'm going again next weekend since it is my only weekend off this month and I'll post. I would say to get out because the bite seems to be getting better each time I go. In past years, the cooler the water gets, the bigger the smallies seem to get. I hope the walleye turn on soon. Good luck.
