Default Kankakee

7/11: Kankakee is shaping up nicely, caught 2 heavy 17" smallies on white spinnerbait and a nice 14" smallie on a chartruese double colorado spinnerbait, all 3 hits were very aggressive and fish looked fat and healthy..Some top water activity but couldn't get them to hit..River is coming down nicely and water is stained in slow sections but clearer where there is more currrent.

QUOTE ScottH Kankakee is shaping up nicely

Yes it was. Still a little on the high end for a serious wet wade, but next week (river around 1.7) would have been great until this rain. 2.3 now and heading straight up!! Looks like I'll get a chance to try that single spin and swimbait Creeky. The rain and high water this year is really getting old...

Bite thru park around islands was hot at 2.9-2.6. Nothing big,(all 13"-16")but landed well over 40.
