Default Derby update

Derby starts Friday ,shocking today, tagged fish in the river. Worked the truck .

It's on its way back up to at least 5.0, not ideal conditions for most.

Interesting comment mrkank. I asked the question on another forum (real hard to guess which one), about the effects of high water and if it was good or bad.

No fishing pressure is a good thing, are there ill effects with the high water as far the fishing goes?

havent seen that much fishing pressure on the river in 10 years ! 30 years ago you would see 15 guys fishing warner bridge area on a sunday morning !! high water might move all the sand around and open new hot spots to find making it a new river to explore !!

The amount of sand coming downstream from this last extended high water period is filling in any new hot spots you thought were out there. How do you think the spawn went, best in 20 years??

Didn't do to well this year. River being closed really hurt. Would be cool if the derby was in October- No mosquito's and chances of river being closed is very low.
