Default past week

Fished mid and lower park, early evenings. Levels are looking alot better, visibility around 30". Bite has been slow even for august. Jerkbaits, spinners and topwaters all caught fish.
Starting to see some moss in the shallows but not too much of a problem working jerkbaits yet. Bigger fish were caught shallow in hard current.

The ever elusive mussel

Looks pretty tough. Levels are on the drop. Very hot week up. Should see real summer/fall water levels. Is that a puppy in sexy's shad's color?

Found a Heddon 3 pack at bigr for 9.50, colors were a little different but it doesn't make a difference. Replaced the split rings and trebles and they're good to go. Very nice hatch this evening and fish took advantage. Moss is increasing quickly, clarity around 3ft.

Sounds like a little more activity. Maybe with the dropping low levels, the bug bite will pick up.

9/6
Fished lower park 7-10pm. Levels look great, clarity 3'. Started in deeper pool for walleye w/ a rogue and huskyjerk. Got one lone ranger around 16". As it got dark I moved shallower throwing various topwater, inline spinners and spinnerbaits. Bite really started at 8:30 and was decent when I left.

9/7
Fished lower park 6-8pm. River came up around 3" and cut visibility in half from yesterday. Threw shallow crankbaits, spinners and topwater around a couple islands and beat a little bank that had patches of willow. Scraped up a few along the bank on top. Didn't like the change in conditions so I packed it up early.

Heard there has been some very good hatches since the water has popped up but the window has been small, heard the moss is suspended. Has the bite improved? Waiting for 1.5

Fished a Creek on the six mile pool over the weekend with my son. Said hatch was definitely in full swing. We caught at least a dozen smallmouth (nothing over 12 inches) some rock bass, and a couple bullhead too. Fun day on the water fishing a Creek I grew up fishing. Waded the Perry trail area yesterday still a little high and dirty. Managed one nice one about 16 inches. Wasn't feeling all that great so I cut the trip short. All fish on inline spinners.
