Default Kankakee Top-water fun!

Kankakee's finest were on the bite yesterday in cold weather conditions. All on the striped top-water XRAP Pro.

The beasts were on the hunt and hit fast and strong. Aggressive attacks.

I don't know where I got the impression that top waters are for warm weather conditions, but yesterday proved that wrong.

Nice!

Any idea what the water temps are? We killed the smallies on the Wisconsin river last weekend. Water temps were still near 60. 49* on the Fox Chain this morning and all I could muster up was a pike..

Nice! Do you stay in the yak all the time or do a little wading too? How is the paddle back upstream?

I stay in the yak for the duration except for comfort breaks. The run from Davis Creek to Warner Bridge is about 8 miles according to google maps. I usually drop a truck at the fishermans parking lot about 1/2 mile downstream of Warner Bridge then return back upstream to launch. (I have family by Davis Creek that aid in this process).

It would be impossible to make that run and paddle back upstream.

Temp was around 50 five days ago, back up to 65 today. Still a little warm.
