Default Clements Barge 11/9

Took the day off of work Tuesday to head up to Clements fishing barge in Genoa, WI. We left Monday night as we had a 4 hour drive ahead of us. This was my second time up and my fiances first time there and the barge did not disappoint. We had to sort through some smaller fish but had our limit of perfect eaters before 2 o'clock when we left. Probably caught about 30 fish all together. Had a mixed bag of Sauger and Walleye. Had one Walleye at 20" and a few fat 15"+ Sauger. As always, Mark was very hospitable.

Walleyes and a few sauger came in on hair jigs tipped with minnows. smaller sauger came in on a 3 way river rig. I started nailing them in the last hour when I tied on one of those floating hair jigs Mark always talks about.

Get out there while Clements is still open!

Nice fish and fishing partner!

That barge fishing sure is fun. Used to fish the Lynxville(sp?) near Prarie Du Chien one back in the 80's with some guys from school. Slept overnight in the bunks. Great fall colors on the bluffs. Funniest thing, my friends used to trailer a boat all the way up there to just fish from the barge the whole weekend. Never once did we go out and try some other spots on their boat. Could have avoided the hassel and just used the shuttle.

Remember seeing alot of locals wearing these "Falling rock walleye club" jackets with patches for different # walleyes they had caught in the past.

Nice area all along up that way

The clements fishing barge is going to open on friday march 15 2013 for the season. We had some bad news this winter as Captian Bryon Clements passed away. It should be another great season on the float so we will see you on the river.
You can always tell a fisheman but you can't tell him much.
