chigowolfs...

I live in addison there for i fish it quite frequently. I have a few places that you could try but are kind of honey holes of mine and dont really want to share with everyone, sorry. But Cricket Creek FP and Wood Dale Grove are good areas with lots of fish that seem to always be biting. I can give u a place or two to try just PM me and i'll write u back.

I also live in Addison, and would recommend Wood Dale over Cricket creek, mostly because I grew up near there and remember when the water was a lot more toxic.
You can also try Songbird Slough, just north of 290 on Mill Rd.
One other place, although it's about a 30 minute drive, is Blackwell FP just east of Rt. 59 on Butterfield in Warrenville. Good mix of fish for adults, and there are ALWAYS tons of bluegill and sunfish under the piers.

Good luck

Hi guys,

I'll try Wood Dale tomorrow. What lures(size & color) work on there?

Thanks!

Default Easy Viktor

Weedless! Surface..

Wooddale is choked with weed so you will need to penetrate the weed, fish the gaps and drop things down through the cover...

I would go a little further West on Lake Street to Spring Creek Reservoir- weed free and two big bass were lost in our club championship on Sunday...

Nice drop-offs from shore and great place! Are we going to see you out at an event??

Default Churchill awesome

Churchill is great- not best kid's venue. Long casts are required! The fish sit up against the far bank especially where there are trees.

The shallow water there makes them very spooky as well!

You should go to an outting of our club's we fish all the lakes you are talking about. Great kid's venue in Arlington Heights- Lake Arlington.

Big gills easy to catch. (Catch & Release only!!!)... NEar shore no casts needed...

Default CANE HER

SCOOBY WHAT? You should cane her. Not as in eeeeoyaa, smack! But as in a graphite cane pole and small float- Kids love those.

My son doesn't catch anything on those either! Loves to cast them, but it causes all sorts of troubles- rod is too short.

For $3 - $5 you can get a 12 foot cane pole. If you want to spend a little to get a slightly better one- get a telescopic fiberglass pole (wonderpole) or the like.. get a TINY float and some 3 - 4 lb. line (less likely to break) but 2 lb. is better- and some #12 hooks. Also get a "disgorger" or hook remover- this will save lots of fish! A disgorger looks like pencil, slides down the line to the hook and bumps it out of fish's throat. Secret is to keep some tension on the line as you slide down- that stands the hook up.

Henry's in Chicago has all of this- they will help you out/get you bait as well as any local bait dealer...

She will catch 100x the number of fish using this... There is a tiny Park at lake Arlington and a beach- so when she tires of fishing- treat her to some park time. They have a concession there were you can get popcorn/juice too (make sure it is open before you promise it! Prevents disappointed youngn's...

Enjoy.
