I agree with DarrenB, the bass are everywhere. One lake doesn't have more action than the other, different spots on the same lake do.
Travel light. Take some topwater baits and spinnerbaits; take some type of soft plastics.
Take a pair of pliers to help remove hooks; something to snip retied line. Put it all in some kind of shoulder bag.
Rig 2 rods with a surface bait and a spinnerbait and start with those. Move to soft plastics lightly weighted to avoid most snags if your not getting anything after a while.
Walk and fish. If you're in a spot for 10 minutes move. Even if you caught fish move because you probably spooked the rest, but move 50 feet one way or the other.
Bring something to write on to log your fishing spots.
If you watch shore fishermen on Busse many, most, of them cast straight out and bring their bait back in. If you watch boat fishermen they are usually casting to the shore. What does that tell you.
Rememer C&R on bass. They don't jump when they are dead.
