Which pool has more bass actions for shore fishing? North Pool or South Pool? You don't have to tell me your favorite fishing holes since I would like to do some exploration on my own. I live up north and since I can visit Busse may be at most three times this season, I would like to narrow down my search areas.

Thanks in advance.

The North Pool has some great Bass and is easy to fish since it is only 25 acres, I have caught several in the 2-4 pound range. The bass are starting to slam topwaters. :)2

There's bass almost anywhere on the lake. They reproduce naturally here and are a primary species. Find any weedy shoreline, flats or clumps of vegetation off of the mainlake current and there is bound to be some bass in there. Even better if there is a dropoff into deep water or a bottom composition change nearby(eg...gravel, rocks, mud), or you see small baitfish swimming shallow in the area. I noticed a few over the weekend in very shallow water swimming around the outer edges of weeds. Maybe males guarding the nests? Water was very clear over the weekend and not much current on the lake. Great time to try topwaters.

I agree with DarrenB, the bass are everywhere. One lake doesn't have more action than the other, different spots on the same lake do.

Travel light. Take some topwater baits and spinnerbaits; take some type of soft plastics.

Take a pair of pliers to help remove hooks; something to snip retied line. Put it all in some kind of shoulder bag.

Rig 2 rods with a surface bait and a spinnerbait and start with those. Move to soft plastics lightly weighted to avoid most snags if your not getting anything after a while.

Walk and fish. If you're in a spot for 10 minutes move. Even if you caught fish move because you probably spooked the rest, but move 50 feet one way or the other.

Bring something to write on to log your fishing spots.

If you watch shore fishermen on Busse many, most, of them cast straight out and bring their bait back in. If you watch boat fishermen they are usually casting to the shore. What does that tell you.

Rememer C&R on bass. They don't jump when they are dead.
