Went out after work with a buddy to a little "secret" quarry pond we found last year and finally got that disgusting skunk scent off of me. Started off throwing a 3/8 oz green Boo jig with a green chigger craw trailer along a drop off with not a single bite. Moved to a Crankin' Rap shallow diver in brown/bone color, nada. Spinner bait, nothing. Finally moved to the far end of the pond where there is a large drop off with a lot of surrounding beds. Moved to my trusty pumpkin/black flake 5" Senko and casted towards a point, fish on! First fish was out of the water a long time while I was fumbling for my pliers, so I threw it back before I could take a picture.
This fish also came on the Texas rigged (weightless) Senko off the drop off near the same point.
Third fish came off the same Senko wacky rigged after the second fish tore it up. Was cruising the the shallow by the drop and I was lucky enough to have my bait just past it, presented it just right and the fool took it. Really dark color on this one.
Finally this girls came on my final cast with a pumpkin Senko, fished just past the drop off.
Fixed the photos, sorry about the orginal goof up.
I know this may seem a little long winded, but I'm attempting to contribute more this year, rather than just leach info.
