Default Good News, Bad News Fox Chain Fishermen

Bad News, I sold my boat, Good News, when I was at the marina doing all the paper work, the DNR was there. I missed them releasing the fish, however I talked to them about the overall fishery. The said the Musky, and Walleye population were way up. Today they released a 54" 37lb Musky, and an 8lb Walleye. They said amost of the females were spawned out, a few of they still had eggs, but for the most part done. I asked which lake they thought was the best for Muskies, They said the nothern lakes the are more plentiful, but southern lakes, the were bigger. They caught the 54" out of Pistakee, or Nippersink. So enjoy the great fishery that is the Fox Chain. Mops

Sorry to hear your boatless mops, hope it's only temporary.

That is good news about the Chain. It makes sense. Last years warm weather made for a sluggish bite causing less harvest, then almost no icefishing season caused even less harvest.

There's gonna be a bunch of hungry fish out there this year.

Actually, they use nets to catch these guys, they use the female walleye eggs for stocking other lakes. There all done this year. As far as I know all the fishies that belong to the chain have been returned.
