33 degree shiner fest at lake bloomington/crappie clowning
OK so there weren't no lil cars or folk with big feet and noses that beeped. temp was likely 50 and dropping.
Heck it was hard to tell if anybody was around. Started out chopping at the wood, sunken not the kind that eats bobbers. the crappie were hitting till the pile driver started in on the seawalls. Moved. south bound.
Hit the same old spot as yesterday without the duck to assist me.
Did manage to stay away from the hangups too, caught about 6 crappie some gills a piggy ol greenie stuffed with shiners. hmmm shiners...
we love catching the lil missles. Went about a foot deeper inverted the comal 3/4 bob so weight was on pole end (sensitivity trick) wind was blowing in face ( I was crappie fishing ) Sure as Putin got the shiner fest going caught more than 2 dozen with some more gills and crappie tossed in.
Used 1/80 or 1/100 th ounce jighead with yellow wedgie threaded on straight and a spike.
The surprise ending... kept getting lil whiffs of skunk smell while fishing
afterwards headed into the underbrush to relieve the bladder and on way back a baby skunk headed out in front of me. coal black about a foot long went striaght down the road across bridge and up the hill. cute lil guy.
