Your comments on "wired2fish wanting a tournament every day on E, and asking guys to give it a rest". Strikes me as you attacking tournaments, I found that odd since you guide on the lake for income.

personally, you did nothing to me... but I see a double standard and called it out.

I am ONE boat ... I hardly choke up the boat ramp like 25 jon boats milling around waiting for a tournament to start. Or trucks & trailers in the parking lot / on the ramp. I have no problem at all with tournaments I was just saying that it would be nice if there were only 1 or 2 per month instead of 12.
As far as a "profit" ... my rates are set so low that I barely cover my $1,000 per year for liabilty insurance. The hundreds of dollars that I lose on broked and lost lures, and the gas I use every year. I do guide on E but I do it because I love muskies. There is nothing better to me than seeing someone catch their first or largest muskie. That is my true payment, my profit if you will ...

I am great friends with Terry ... have known him all my life. I meant to offence toward him nor you. My apologies if it seemed otherwise ...

I don't fish for either of them. I catch them on occasion though.

So T, you noticing the young muskies with chunks missing from the snapping turtles? Seen couple this year.

Hi Blu...

Nope, I have not noticed any chunks missing on the little ones. Snapping turtles have to eat too

Its all good Thad, didn't mean to make a scene. But I think tournaments and guides both sort of exploit a fishery, damage it... no.

Our club has a tournament on E once a year, we pay for launch passes for 2 days (only real days we use the lake) rent a spot each at the campground. We usually see about 5 or 6 boats at the same ramp as us. Lots of room in that lake IMO. We don't ask for exemptions on limits or size and we release our catch. I think tournaments get a bad rap a lot of the time, and I sort of jumped the gun on my comments.

Lets hug. :P
